If you -too- often find yourself splurging on makeup items you don’t need, then I am very pleased to meet you. My name is Christina, and I’m a full time university student.
Imagine. You’re standing in Sephora, all the beautiful glossy makeup items dancing mischievously around you. Dollar bills in your eyes.
…and then you wake up.
We are all victims of attractive packaging, raves about the coolest products that luxury brands put out, and the influence of social media. However, what we often fail to keep in mind is ‘ALTERNATIVES’.
I have made a little trip to the ‘Boots’ pharmacy recently, and have picked out some great,budget-worthy makeup products for you!
1: MAYBELLINE INSTANT AGE REWIND CONCEALER (DHS 55)
Get rid of those under eye circles, like you would of your least favourite professor- with this Maybelline magic wand!
There are so many raves about it on the internet, as you all may know, which is why you can take not only my word for it; this concealer deserves to be in your budget makeup must haves. It’s perfect for usage above your cheekbone area, and in a triangle shape underneath your eyes. No one will even know that it wasn’t a thousand little elves who carefully covered every imperfection!
2: BOURJOIS VOLUME GLAMOUR MAX MASCARA (DHS37)
Now I’ve actually stumbled upon it accidentally (by stealing it from my mom). However, up to date, I still use it every morning when I get ready! It’s a great budget find, plus, it looks absolutely stunning on your lower lashes. Just make sure to curl your lashes before applying it- as it can be a slight bit heavy, and weigh them down. Nonetheless, a great find.
3: RIMMEL LONDON STAY MATTE LONG LASTING PRESSED POWDER ( DHS 27)
As for powder, out of all the budget finds- I prefer the Stay Matte. Tanya Burr’s favorite, too!
Set your foundation with it for a porcelain, doll like, flawless finish. It comes in a few colors, and my all time favorite- the translucent shade- a great way to not cake up your face like it’s your birthday. Plus, it’s great for us oily-skinned girls out there, as it’s designed to keep you matte for a few good hours – and who doesn’t need that in Dubai?
4: RIMMEL LONDON NATURAL BRONZER (DHS 29)
From that same company, I have spotted a gorgeous bronzer to give you that kissed-by-the-Dubai-sunshine type of look , which is ensured to go hand in hand with your ‘Stay Matte’. It’s opaquely pigmented, it’s 29 dhs. It’s waterproof. It’s 29dhs. On top of all that, it’s SPF 15!
..did i mention it’s 29 dhs?
5: RIMMEL LONDON GLAM’EYES PROFESSIONAL LIQUID LINER (DHS 35)
Nooooow, my favorite part; the knife-sharp liner look tool: Rimmel eyeliner. This ‘kitchen tool’ has been a part of my makeup bag ever since I’ve laid my eyes on it. The liner lasts for quite a long time, is easy to use due to it’s thin, precise brush, and is very affordable. I’ve gotten quite a few of my friends on this liner, and once you try it- you’ll be hooked too!
6: MAYBELLINE FIT ME Foundation ( 50 aed )
This has been our favourite product at ‘Beauty By Eljammi’ office , even though it is a drugstore product but the coverage and texture almost make you feel like Tom Ford!
I’d highly suggest it for girls that have combined/oily skin .
